Linnie B. Nellom, 91, KCMO, passed away on November 13, 2017 at Swope Ridge Nursing Home. She was born March 20, 1926 in Bastrop, Louisiana to the union of Cordie and Claire Phillips. The family relocated to St. Louis, Missouri before Linnie made her home in Kansas City, Missouri.

Linnie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the mother's board.

Linnie was united in marriage to Henry Nellom, who preceded her in death. She was a very funny, outspoken woman who was known to simply tell it like it is. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, but above all she loved spending time with family and close friends.

Linnie was preceded in death by her parents, Cordie and Claire Phillips; siblings, Grace Smith, "Arvin" Phillips, Ruby Haynes, Rose Ann Nichols, Delores Christian, Velma Roberts and Earl Phillips; daughter, Shelia Bennett; grandson, Shelton "Maseo" Estell and her significant other, Melvin Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Shelton Estell; daughters, Shirley Estell, Sandra Estell and Lacy Campbell; sisters, June Phillips and Joyce Phillips; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
