Life Reflections

“

Lorraine was blessed with the love of family and the opportunity to create memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A beautiful life filled with cherished memories and the love of family came to a peaceful close on Saturday, October 17, 2026, when Lorraine Smith, age 87, departed this life at Wilshire at Lakewood Rehab Center in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Lorraine was born on March 17, 1939, to the late Robert and Eula Lee Smith. Throughout her 87 years of life, she was blessed with the love of family and the opportunity to create memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Lorraine's life was enriched by the many relationships she shared with her family and loved ones. Her presence, the moments shared together, and the memories created over the years will forever be treasured. Although her earthly journey has come to an end, the love she leaves behind will continue to live on through the generations of her family.

Lorraine leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving daughter, Donna Freelon, and son-in-law, Joel Freelon; her brother, Carl Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; her sisters, Frances Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, Linda Washington of Columbia, Missouri, and Betty Gordon of St. Louis, Missouri; two granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

“

Her presence, the moments shared together, and the memories created over the years will forever be treasured.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert and Eula Lee Smith; two sisters; and one brother.

As we reflect upon Lorraine's 87 years of life, we celebrate the memories she created, the family she loved, and the legacy she leaves behind. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain a lasting part of the lives she touched.

Rest peacefully, Lorraine. Your journey on earth is complete, but your memory will forever live in the hearts of those who love you.
