Lula Mae (Crawford) Johnson, 93, passed away at the home on June 26, 2018. She was born July 15, 1924 in Jefferson, Texas to the union of Rev. Fletcher and Anna Crawford. Her parents, nine brothers, two sisters, and three sons Dana L. Johnson, Rev. Ennis A. Johnson and Nathaniel Johnson, Jr. all preceded her in death.

Ennis Johnson was the pastor. She later united with the Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church where her son-in-law, Rev. Michael E. Brooks is pastor.
Lula was a licensed cosmetologist. She was a gifted gospel singer and used her voice in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas. She was certified as a pre-school teacher at Linwood Multi-Purpose Center, and later opened her home daycare and taught many years. Her greatest joy was working with children.
