Obituary

Mae Helen Richardson, 76, was born May 28, 1943 in Moro, Arkansas to Willie and Lula Randle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lula Randle; children, Darryle (Anthony) Richardson, Angela Richardson, and Audris (Nikki) Richardson; siblings, James (Sonny) Randle, Brenda (Kay) Wilcox.

Mae attended Central High School in KCPS School District, and left school when she became married to travel with her husband while he was enlisted in the United States Air Force. She later returned to Kansas City and received her GED certificate and Associates of Business Administration degree from Penn Valley Community College.

Mae accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was on the Usher Board where she held various officer positions, and was so honored to be appointed to the Mother Board. She thoroughly enjoyed her Sunday school class, which she attended each Sunday.

Mae held various jobs in her career and obtained her Associates Degree while enjoying her passion for kids while working at St. Vincent Daycare as a Child Care Provider for over 40 years. She used her associate degree credentials to become an Administrative Assistant where she could use her secretary skills and continue to be around the kids at St. Vincent's Daycare (Operation Breakthrough). Mae retired from Operation Breakthrough as an Administrative Assistant to Sister Berta and Sister Corita in 2012 and received numerous awards and recognition for her dedication and commitment to educating children.

Mae was passionate about spending time with her family and the kids at St. Vincent's Day Care. She got her second wind at the age of 50 when she finally got her driver's license and became an avid aerobic participant. This also allowed her to relish her love for shopping and dressing. She was a fashionista for sure! She kept herself very busy with weekly shopping trips, attending church, family events, traveling and participating in a plethora of events with the many Houses she was a member of simultaneously.

Mae was a member of many houses which included: Herrons of Jericho, Eastern Star, Cyren, and Daughters, where she held past positions in all houses. She was Crowned Grand Matron of Cyren, and the ceremony was majestic!

Mae departed this life on Sunday, September 15th, 2019 at Kansas City Hospice Center.

To forever cherish her memory she leaves her children, Ronel Richardson (Zimrah Israel) (Valerie-Yakira Israel Richardson), daughter, Adriene White; siblings, Leonard "Jimmy" Randle (Judy), Willie "Ronnie" Randle, Jr. (Donna), Philip Randle, Vickie Marshall, Arnetta "Net" Randle, David Randle, and Lisa Randle; grandchildren, Darryle (Anthony) Richardson, Jr.(Dede), Antwuan Richardson, Courtney Richardson, Janae Harvey, Chavae McGee, Cayla Richardson (Lavell), Lake White, Louis Roccaro, Bailey White, Quinten Richardson, Ziyah Richardson, and Zion Israel; special uncle, Cunnie Randle and a host of great grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins and friends.
