Obituary

Margaret Ann Clemons, 65, went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2018. Known as "Miss Margaret" to some, she was born August 9, 1952 to the union of L.C. Crawford and Hettie Mae griffin in Jonesboro, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by both parents and one daughter.

As a young adult, Miss Margaret attended and graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1970, where she formed several lifelong friendships which lasted to this present day.

Miss Margaret married Larry Stephenson, Sr. and to this union two children were born. The union was later dissolved and she went on to Curtis L. Mitchell and one child was born to this union. This union was also dissolved and Miss Margaret dedicated herself to her children and work. In 2007, she married her high school sweetheart, Willie Clemons, and from this blessed union two families became one.

Miss Margaret worked for several law firms in the metropolitan area, retiring from Lathrop & Gage after eighteen years. After retiring, she followed her entrepreneurial spirit and furthered her education at Heritage College where she studied massage therapy proceeding to become self-employed.

Miss Margaret accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and rooted herself at Grace Community Baptist Church, under the leadership and teaching of Pastor Troy J. Carson. She remained a faithful member and became an avid reader of the bible before moving her fellowship to Christian Tabernacle COGIC, under the leadership and teaching of Pastor Keith Newton until the time of her passing.

She leaves to cherish her lifelong legacy: her husband, Willie Clemons; three sons, Larry Stephenson, Jr. of KCMO, (Tiffany Whitney-Stephenson of Crown Point, IN), Terry D. Stephenson of Phoenix, AR and Marlon A. Mitchell (Leigh) of KCMO; stepson, Willie Clemons, Jr. of KCMO; stepdaughters, Jaimela Clemons and Anjaih Clemons both of KCMO; three brothers, Willie R. West (Linda) of Dallas, TX, Jerry Crawford (Roberta) of KCMO and Lynn E. Griffin (Chaleta) of Lawton, OK; three sisters, Nancy F. Hardy of Chatham, LA, Marion Wilson-Brown of KCMO and Rhonda Crawford of Ruston, LA; thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nephews, nieces, extended family, blended family, lifelong friends and classmates.
