Obituary

Margaret Adiena Henry, better known as "Mother Henry", was born June 30, 1935 to Samuel Reid and Helena Hodge in Newton Ground Village, St. Kitts, West Indies. Both preceded her in death and she survived all six siblings Samuel Henry, Marjorie Hamilton, Vanita Carty, Gertrude Richardson, Leo Reid and Joseph Moore.

Margaret was baptized at an early age and grew up in St. Kitts, migrating from the West Indies to St. Albans, England in 1960. Margaret married George Caseman (also a native West Indian) on September 25, 1961. They were married nine years.

While in St. Albans, Margaret was an active member of Elim Pentecostal Church where she ushered, taught Sunday school and vacation bible school to the children.

Margaret raised her children with strong work ethics. During her working season she was known to have maintained up to three jobs at any one time, cleaning office buildings early mornings while Margaret's main employment was as a kitchen assistant at St. Andrews Hospital. After many years of service, she retired from St. Andrew's Hospital in 2000.

During her time on earth the Lord blessed Margaret with five children, Deryck Reid (who preceded her in death), Nevill Reid, Antoni Henry, Shirley Caseman, and Angela Wright-Jones.

Margaret's youngest daughter Angela relocated from England to Kansas City, MO in 1989 and being no novice to travel, Margaret soon followed. She became a permanent resident in 2001 and joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ soon after. Margaret was a very active at Palestine. She participated in several organizations including the senior choir, senior citizen's choir, Sunday school, Camp Palestine, the revival committee and the women's missionary union. She spent several years in the Mission field as part of Palestine's Street Ministry preaching Gods word. She was later inducted onto the Mother Board by Pastor Leonard P. Butler, Jr.

Mother Henry loved to sing. Some other interests were sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, crossword puzzles, and studying her bible. When she wasn't doing that she loved watching cartoons with her grandchildren. Mother Henry had a joyous, youthful spirit and loved being around children. She spent many years volunteering at Camp Palestine and helping around the church. She also spent time as a floor monitor while residing at Palestine Gardens, always with a smile on her face.

Mother Henry went on to be with the Lord on November 26, 2018 at the age of 83.

Margaret leaves behind eleven grandchildren, Craig Chapman, Alicia Chapman, Jerome Caseman, Deryck Bell, Naandie Wright, Tynetta Wright, Michael Wright, Jr., Joshua Henry, Jacob Henry, Noah Henry and Isabella Henry; four great grandchildren, LeAnna Caseman, Lacey Chapman, Kaydee Bell and Mya Wright; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
