*February 8, 1938 - June 13, 2021*
Our beautiful mother Marilyn Louise Murray Millon is now in the arms of her beloved Messiah Jesus and Heaven is rejoicing that one of the sweetest persons ever created is now with them. She was the epitome of soft-spoken kindness, grace and elegance - almost too ethereal for this world. Everyone she encountered felt her gentleness and she will always be remembered for her delicate speech and the love she poured out on all.
She lived a world traveled life, born into a military family in 1938 in Georgia, went to high school in Germany in the 50s, joined the Air Force herself in 1958, married in the 60s and raised a family in both Italy and Thailand, finally settling in Kansas City in the 70s. In addition to serving her country in the Air Force, she had a long and illustrious career with the Environmental Protection Agency spanning over 40 years.
She was always soft-spoken, articulate, a little sassy and always fashionable; a lover of Father God, growing plants and flowers, Gates BBQ, gospel music, and the Kansas City Chiefs football team - 'Go Chiefs!' She was always the cutest senior in the hospital with her Chiefs jersey on during every game thanks to her daughter Alicia. She was also a Mother on the Mothers Board at Second Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Ford and Bishop Lewis and also attended services with our dear friend Pastor Anthony Andrews at Church of Faith International.
But she loved, loved, loved her family most of all! She was preceded in death by her parents Billie Murray and Azzie Lee Battle Murray, her brother Robert Murray, her brother Donald Murray who just recently passed this year, and her husband Martin Millon. She is survived by her brother Michael, sister Bettye Ann, children Valerie, Derrick, Alicia and Michael. Her grandchildren Brandon, Ariel, Bianca, Haley, Kylee and McKenna; her great-grandchildren Millon, Adryanna, Micah, Ava and many adored nieces and nephews, family, co-workers and friends!
Her Celebration of Life service will be held at Second Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday June 19th, 2021 at 5111 Harry Truman Drive, Grandview, MO 64030. The wake will be held from 3:00 - 4:00 pm and the funeral services will begin at 4:00 pm. If you would like to send flowers please send them to the church address.
Mom - thank you for being a Righteous Queen, to us, your children. Thank you for all of your sacrifices and love. May you have many jewels in the crown you'll wear in Heaven because of all of the beauty you instilled on this earth. We love you forever and will see you soon.
John 14:1-6."Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in Me. In My Father's House are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also. You know where I am going, and you know the way." Jesus
