Marion Walter Vernell Goines, 61, of Fort Worth, Texas formerly of Kansas City, Missouri died on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Harris Methodist Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1955 to the union of Marion W. Goines, Sr. and Hortense (Barber) Goines in Kansas City, Kansas. His daughter, Lorraine Goines preceded him in death. Marion was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri public schools and was a graduate of Central High School. He furthered his education at Eastern Illinois University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Public Health. Also known as 'Walt Baby Love', Marion relocated to Fort Worth, Texas where he made his home for over twenty years. He was an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance Company until retiring in 2014. He was gifted to sell and could almost sell you anything. Marion, being very charismatic, enjoyed having a good time. He loved to dance and was considered a social butterfly. He leaves to cherish his memory: six children, Paulette Goines, Lynette Pitchlyn (Deano), Renae Goines, Michelle Goines, Ryan Goines and Simon Goines; his parents, Marion W. Goines, Sr. and Hortense Goines; three brothers, James Goines, Donnie Goines and Leonard Goines (Brenda); three sisters, Sherry Williams (Leroy), Patricia Cooper (Artie) and Kelly Williams; four grandchildren, Danielle Pitchlyn, Dominique Pitchlyn, Destinee Pitchlyn and Layla Spann; his lifelong partner, Brigetta Bennett; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 12, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel.
