Marjorie Ruth Shields, 97, was born April 13, 1920 to James B. and Irene Shields in Clay County near Liberty, Missouri. She attended grade school in White Oaks, just a few miles from her home. Marjorie had a stroke at an early age which left her to be cared for by her loving family. She was always there to help care for her nephews and nieces. Marjorie joined Highland Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.S. Stamps. She truly loved the Lord. Marjorie departed this life on May 1, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph Shields, Eppie Shields, Andrew Shields and John Shields, Sr.; and two sisters, Lucile and Cleopatra. She is survived by her sister, Helen Pearcy (James) of Detroit, MI; her loving niece and caregiver, Geraldine Watson and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be Friday, May 5, 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
