Obituary

Marlon McIntyre, 70, passed away on August 27, 2019 at the home. He was born February 26, 1949 in Monticello, Arkansas to Lena Mae Lucas and Johnnie McIntyre. He was the second of two sons. Marlon was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Mae Hicks; brother, Leron Scales; father, Johnnie McIntyre and grandparents, William McKinley and Lula Bell Lucas.

Marlon began his education in the Drew County School District until his grandparents moved to Kansas City, Missouri. He furthered his education in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. Marlon confessed a hope in Christ at an early age in Monticello, Arkansas.

Marlon was employed by the City of Kansas City and developed his cooking skills working as a cook at several restaurants throughout the city. When his mother's health began to fail, he cared for her until she had to be placed in a nursing home.

He leaves to cherish his memory: four sons, Marlon Mayhue, Desmond McIntyre (Crystal), E6 Petty Officer Cory McIntyre (E7 Chief Petty Officer Yleana) and Derek McIntyre (Cesia); one daughter, Danielle McIntyre; three aunts, Mae Helen Goolsby, Iona Carr (Ivy) and Bettie Lucas; eleven grandchildren, Brenda Dunbar, Somer, Mayhue, Marcus McIntyre, D'Anthony Merrick, Trinity McIntyre, Jade McIntyre, Alex Bangs, Amber McIntyre, Golden Bolder, Aryanna McIntyre, Daniel Bolder; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, September 7, 10:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
