Obituary

Marvin Louis Greer, 62, passed away on November 4, 2017 at the Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care Center. He was born May 30, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Eddie and Ethel (Cannigan) Greer. He was preceded in death by Charles Greer and Curley Greer.

Marvin accepted Christ at an early age and joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church. He truly loved the Lord.

Marvin attended Lincoln Junior and Lincoln Senior High Schools in the early 1970's, and graduated from Southeast High School in 1973. He furthered his education in the early 1990's at Penn Valley Community College and Longview Community College, obtaining an Associate's degree.

Marvin worked at UMKC for twenty-five years as the maintenance supervisor and at Cleveland Chiropractic College for ten years.

Marvin was married to Patricia Ann Brewer on October 28, 2000. The two have shared their love, joy, pain and happiness in Jesus Christ for forty-three years.

Marvin was a very intelligent man who loved to have intelligent conversations with all people. He enjoyed reading, playing dominoes and the bass guitar. He loved his family and genuinely loved to love Pat.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Patricia A. Greer; brother, Eddie Greer, Jr. (Linda); sister, Gloria Dooley (Emmitt); uncle, Al Cannigan (Ollie); aunts, Roberta Coleman and Earsaleen Anderson; nephews, Eddie Greer III, Brandon Dooley, Jason Greer, Derry Malone, Jr. and Darryl Brooks; nieces, Tiffany Dooley, Adrianne Murphy and Dana Malone; brothers-in-law, Amos Brewer and Derry Malone; sisters-in-law, Noraetta Malone and Loretta (Laurence) Parison; and a host of very special relatives and very special friends.

Funeral services Saturday, November 18, 12:00 p.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
