Mary June Black, 66, passed away on March 10, 2018 at Menorah Medical Center. She was born to the late Jewell Mae Ross and Winston Black, Sr. on July 8, 1951 in Dell, Arkansas. Her brothers, Michael Ross, Winston Black, Jr. and three sisters, Charlene Coleman, Armour Jean Ross, and Phillistene Ross all preceded her in death.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Harrison High School in Blytheville, Arkansas and graduated in 1969. She relocated to Kansas City where she had several jobs, but retired from Southwestern Bell after approximately thirty years and later retired from Hickman Mills School District.

"June" loved to cook, shop, socialize and work in the yard. She was always willing to cook so she cooked for the YMCA Silver Sneakers and anyone else who asked. June will be remembered for always bringing more to the family dinners than she was supposed to. Her main dishes were her delicious Texas soup, mexican spaghetti and dressing. We all thank God for the time, love and memories He allowed us to share with her. They will always be embedded in our hearts.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, LaRhae Black of Houston, TX; son, Corey Black; brothers, Norman Carter of Eustis, FL, Jackie Ross of Kansas City and Larry Black of Blytheville; sisters, Carolyn King (Rev. Larry), Cathy Ambrus and Barbara Ross of Kansas City, MO, Geraldine Black of New York, Vernice, Harriet and Gloria Black of Atlanta, GA; two granddaughters, Hailey Black and Imai Bethley; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
