Mary B.
Clemons
Oct 8, 1930 — Mar 14, 2018
Mary was educated in the public schools of Carriere, Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the New Hebron Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the usher board and sang in the choir.
In 1947, Mary was united in marriage to Willie G. Clemons, Sr. and to this union six children were born. He also preceded her in death. In 1968 the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she made her home over fifty years. She then united with Jackson Memorial Freewill Baptist Church where she served faithfully. Mary was currently attending Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church when her health permitted.
Mary worked various jobs throughout the greater Kansas City area. Her greatest joy was being a foster grandparent at the Calvary Early Education Center from 2002 to 2014, until she retired as her health began to fail.
She leaves to cherish her memory: five sons, Willie G. Clemons, Jr. (Jessie) and Clarence Clemons (Emogene) both of Kansas City, MO, William L. Clemons and John H. Clemons both of Portland, OR and Walter Clemons (Sheryel) of Oakland, CA; one daughter, Gracie Clemons of Kansas City, MO; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; special friend of ten years, Regina Taylor and a host of other relatives and friends.
