Mary L.
Hill
Aug 12, 1963 — Jun 8, 2020
Mary Lynn Rambo-Hill was born in Kansas City, MO to Pastor Julius Sr. and Mary Louise Rambo on August 12, 1963. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, paternal aunties & maternal uncles, brother-n-laws, a niece, Nina Rambo-Jones, a nephew, Robert Theus V, cousins and friends, who we believe welcomed her into heaven.
"Pebbles", as she was affectionately called, was educated in the Kansas City, MO School District. She attended Meservey Elementary, Martin Luther King Jr. High and graduated from Paseo High School in 1981.
In 1982, she married Sylvester Jackson, Jr. and to this union, one child, Miesha Jackson, was born. This marriage was later dissolved.
In 1988, she met the love of her life, Michael Hill, Sr. and they were united in Holy Matrimony on December 31, 1996. To this union, two children Martesha and Michael Hill, Jr. were born.
"Pebbles" accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri under the leadership of her father, Pastor Julius Rambo Sr. Later she served under the leadership of her brother, Pastor Rickey Rambo and served faithfully with the Sunlight Inspirational Choir, until her health began to fail. Often, you could hear her leading such tunes as, "Thine Shall the Glory Be," "Having You There," "Jesus," and "If God Said It, That Settles It." Her presence on the soprano row will be missed.
A cook by trade, Mary Lynn was employed with Primrose School of Leawood and she also served as a home health aide for her parents. Even though she was known for her great cooking skills, she was well-known for being the best at encouraging others, especially those who were also battling cancer. Being diagnosed with cancer, gave her a new ministry. During her chemo treatments, you could catch her praying for, assuring and reassuring new patients that they could make it. She was everyone's personal cheerleader!
Mary Lynn Rambo-Hill, after a long courageous battle with cancer, departed this life on June 8, 2020.
