Mary Frances was educated in the public schools of Clayton, Alabama. Leaving school to help her family on the farm, she continued her informal education by reading and studying the Bible. Mary Frances moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1959 with her husband Joe Pruitt, and began her new life as a wife and mother to six beautiful children. Her professional career centered on several prominent families as she performed domestic engineer duties in each of their homes. She was also a member of the group known as 'The Golden Eagles Family', which are members from all different area churches that gather together every 3rd Saturday for various activities and great inspirational conversations. Their motto 'We've come this far by faith'. Mary Frances later joined Southside First Missionary Baptist Church, and had been a loyal active member for the last fifteen years serving as a Sunday School teacher, Ministers wife, and singing in the choir. Mary Frances remarried, after an invitation to see a highly popular gospel group 'The Jordan Jubilees', little did she know that one of the lead singers Rev. Grady Lockhart, would one year later ask for her hand in marriage; a union that has lasted for thirty-seven years. Mary Frances was a devoted and loyal wife, nurturing and loving mother, considerate and faithful friend, confidant and supportive sister, and a giving and humble servant of God.
