Mary Ann Newton, 91, passed away on November 27, 2017 in Duluth, Georgia surrounded by her family. She was born January 25, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri to Noah Flanagan and Georgia Monroe Flanagan, whom preceded her in death. Mary was a long time time resident of Kansas City and was educated in the Kansas City School District. Mary was a long time worker in the church daycare and church counsel. She was a Mother to so many, lovingly called "Mama Newton" or "Mama Dear" by her grandchildren. Mary enjoyed family, friends and was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to those who needed it. In 1948, Mary married William Charles Newton who also preceded her in death. Four children were born to that union: one son, the late Michael Charles Newton (Frances) and three daughters, Ruth Beard, Marie Tripp and Alecia Hudson. Mary leaves to mourn her memory: ten grandchildren, Lynne, Marietta, Michael, Matthew, Camille, Rose, Erin, Cierra, Mariah, and Iyanna; her first great grandchild, Marita and a host of other step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, from 10:15 - 11:15 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Services conducted by Duane E.
