Matthew Nave, Sr., 83, passed away on January 15, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born on April 9, 1935 to Sam and Fannie B. Nave. He was preceded in death by both parents and two sisters, Ada Mae Mitchell and Sara B. Early.

Matthew was a hard working man. He worked as a shoe repairman for many years and later went on to work for General Mills, from which he retired.

Matthew was united in holy matrimony to Betty R. Nave. To this union three sons were born.

Matthew enjoyed the outdoors, and often loved to sit on the porch whether the weather was hot or cold.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sons, Brian Nave, Matthew Nave, Jr. (Poamb) and Howard Nave (Yolanda); two sisters, Sophia Nave of Forth Wayne, IN and Annie Carter of Ohio; two special sons, Corey Anderson and Sheldon Ledbetter, Sr.; thirteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, February 2, 11:00 a.m. at Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
