Obituary

Matthew Thierry III, 38, was born on March 29, 1980 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Matthew Thierry, Jr. and Doris (Mulkey) Thierry. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Matthew Thierry, Sr. and Ruthie Mae Austin; maternal grandmother, Emma Jean Craddock; two uncles, Clarence Mulkey and Darren McDaniel.

Matthew lived in the Kansas City area most of his life and was education in the Kansas City public schools. He accepted Christ at an early age in 1989 and united with the Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas under pastorate of Rev. David L. Gray.

Matthew was employed as a bus driver with Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (The Metro). He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia and while there he was employed with the Marta. He recently relocated to Houston, Texas and was employed with Allied Universal Security Services and held the position head of security.

Matthew was a kind and giving person who would give to anyone in need. He never met a stranger and he touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with.

Matthew departed this life on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Mattena Thierry; parents, Matthew Jr. and Doris Thierry; three sisters, LaTasha Mulkey, Denise Mulkey and D'Meka Thierry; granddaughter, Maliyah Thierry; six uncles, Robert Craddock, Gregory Thierry, Anthony Thierry, Donnell Thierry and Mann Thierry; seven aunts, Wanda Wortham (Willie), Belinda Thierry, Christine Thierry, Renee Thierry, Frances Cooks (Sam), Shynel Canaday (Loyal) and Carla Craddock-Givhan (Keith); four nephews, Kevin Kennedy II, Dorve'on Mulkey, Deijon Soil, and D'Mauri Thierry; two nieces, Kanenisha Kennedy and D'Miyah Thierry Kerr; great nephew, Kaedyn Kennedy; Goddaughter, Malea Johnson; cousin/sister, Deshai Turner, a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, January 5, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
