Mattie Bell "Auntie" Taylor was born on October 16,1938 in Taylortown, LA to Robert and Rosie Taylor, Sr. She was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, Herman, Robert Jr and Coleman Taylor, one sister-in-law, Treobie Taylor, one niece Shamekia Howard Stewart, one nephew Norman Taylor and one great nephew Charles Davis III.

She was educated in Arkansas schools until the age of 17 and completed the 12th grade in Princeton, LA.

She had no children so she had close relationships with all of her nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.

She moved to Kansas City, Mo at the age of 27 and worked at the Kansas City, KS Federal building as the head housekeeper for 21 years. At the age of 60 she relocated to Bossier City, LA., until November 2019.

She departed this life on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Truman Medical Center Lakewood Care Center surrounded by family.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one sister, Marie (David) Feaster of Shreveport, La; three nephews, Norris Sr. and Curtis (Annette) Taylor of Kansas City, Mo, Brandon Howard of Dallas, Tx; niece, Tammy Taylor of Kansas City, Mo; five great nieces, Mia, Nakeshia, Marissa Taylor, Tamara Davis all of Kansas City and Katlyn Howard of Shreveport, La; four great nephews, Norris Jr of Kansas City, Brandon Howard Jr, DeAnthony Howard and Cameron Perry all of Louisiana; ten great-great nieces and nephews; two close friends but more like sisters, Betty West of Bossier City, La and Betty of Detroit, MI and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service Friday, February 21, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Private Disposition. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Service conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
