Maurice Samuel Moore, 76, passed away on December 24, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital East. He was born March 23, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas to Earl Moore and Ruby Gilmore. He was preceded in death by both parents; one, brother Duane Vaughn; four sisters, Alfreda Purnell, Myrtle Byers, Margie Williams and LaVer Young; three daughters, Donna Anderson, Pamela Moore and Gina Young.

Maurice was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Kansas, attending Northeast Junior High School and Sumner High School. Maurice worked several years at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant before going on to work with Certain-Teed Fiberglass as a machine operator until his health began to fail.

Maurice became a faithful member of Bower's Memorial CME Church, under the leadership of Rev. Harry Price. While there he served as a steward and sang in the male chorus.

Maurice married Ms. Jammie Oliver on October 22, 1977. To this union one daughter was born, Kimberly.

Maurice loved riding his motorcycle, photography, and making videos of family functions and church programs. Above all, he loved God and family.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Jammie Moore; one son, Reggie Harris; three daughters, Kimberly Moore, Juanetta Bradley and Larice Moore; brother, Horace Murphy (Odessa); sister, Terri Lee; two brothers-in-laws, James Oliver and Terry Oliver; sister-in-law, Blanche Bank (Wade); grandchildren, Anthony Moore, Kevin Moore, Mitchell Young, Keisha Moore, Kelly Bradley, Brook Anderson, Jahnon Moore and four great grandchildren; two aunts, Eunice Daniel and Willa Mae Fant (Alvin); and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, January 5, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
