Maurtica Brena' Britt, 25, KCKS, passed away on May 26, 2018. She was born June 17, 1992 to the union of Maurice B. Britt and Theresa R. (Bowie) Britt in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

At the age of two, Maurtica moved to Kansas City, Missouri. She later moved to Kansas City, Kansas where she made her home for over fifteen years.

Maurtica was educated in the Kansas City, Kansas public schools and was a graduate of F.L. Schagle High School, class of 2010. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Brooks. She was employed at Piercing Pagoda Jewelry Company.

Maurtica was a loving mother, daughter and granddaughter with an array of creative skills. She did hair and makeup, and creative art and designs on clothing. Maurtica had the gift of making things fit beautifully for any occasion. She was known for creating themed parties.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Chase Washington, Kobe Washington and Ashton Washington; one daughter, Mahkenna Washington all of Kansas City, KS; father, Maurice B. Britt and mother, Theresa R. Britt-Lewis (Chris) both of Kansas City, KS; one brother, Christopher Lewis of Kansas City, KS; maternal grandfather, George Bowie (Loretta) of Omaha, NE; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Jones (Clifton) of Colorado Springs, CO; paternal great grandmother, Willie Bowie of Omaha, NE; maternal great grandparents, Commodore & Flora Collins of Kansas City, MO; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
