Melinda Faye
Holland
Mar 18, 1962 — Apr 1, 2017
Melinda Faye Holland, 55, of Raymore, Missouri, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 18, 1962, to Mathew Mitchell, Sr. and Nancy Ann Cobb. She departed this life on April 1, 2017 to begin her eternal journey with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Melinda was preceded in death by her father Mathew Mitchell, Sr. and sister Ernist A. Johnson. Melinda completed her formal education at Westport High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She was an exceptionally hard worker and retired from Unilever Manufacturing Company. Melinda accepted Christ at an early age and was ordained in 2000 as a Minister by Pastor William Cobb at Love Ministries. She was a faithful member of House Of Refuge Outreach Ministry. In 2008, she fought and won the battle against breast cancer. Melinda naturally gravitated towards the finer things in life. This characteristic mirrored throughout every aspect of her life; the way she furnished her home, the car she drove, right down to her personal appearance. One of her favorite past times was eating candy and drinking soda pop. She was very funny and loved to laugh. She had a smile that would light up any room she stepped in. Melinda was very unique, passionate and full of life. Melinda leaves to cherish her memories: three children: Brandi Nichole Carter of Kansas City, MO, Brandon Tier Carter of Overland Park, KS, and Trey Anthony Holland of Kansas City, MO; her mother, Nancy Ann Cobb of Kansas City, MO; five sisters: Helen Chaffin, Jeanetta Ellis, Shirley Jefferson, Velda Renee Woods and Sylvia McClain (Winford); five brothers: Mathew Mitchell, Jr. of Dumas, AR, William Cobb (Irene) of Kansas City, MO, Morris Mitchell of El Reno, OK, Donald Mitchell of Baltimore, MD and Steven Mitchell of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren: TreVon Clayborn and Malik Clayborn of Raymore, MO, Chaden Carter of Belton, MO, and Destiny Carter of Overland Park, KS; a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 8, 12:00 p.m. at House of Refuge Outreach Ministry. Private disposition. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
