Obituary

Michael Anthony Clark 'Mickey Mike', 53, KCMO, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. He was born December 15, 1962, the seventh child to the union of Mr. Calvin C. Clark, Sr. and Shirley Woods Clark. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. Leonard G. Clark, Sr. and Leola L. Clark; maternal grandparents, Napoleon Woods and Lucille Woods; and a son Michael Shoats. Michael attended K. B. Richardson Elementary School and Central High School. He went on to receive his Mechanic certification and began working for Ford Motor Company and other automotive companies until his health began to fail. He was a master mechanic technician over the years and had an exceptional talent when it came to fixing cars. Michael accepted Christ and was baptized at Swope Parkway Church of Christ, making Christ his Lord and Savior. Upon moving to Indiana, he rededicated his life to Christ at the Westside Church of Christ in Yorktown, Indiana. In February 2016 when he returned to Kansas City, he reunited with Swope Parkway Church of Christ. Michael loved to skate, fish, barbeque, and ride his motorcycle. He was a very outgoing person, but more than anything he loved spending time with his daughters and family. Michael leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife Carol; daughters, Carmen 'Nikki' Shoats of Kansas City, MO, Mickayla Chanell Clark and Cualra Frenchael Clark of Indiana; a special son, Jerome Shoats; father, Calvin C. Clark, Sr. and mother Shirley Clark; brothers, Calvin C. Clark, Jr. (Jackie) of Chesapeake, VA, Thomas Clark, Sr. (Sheila), Stevie Clark, and Robert Clark (Tina) of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Janice Clark, Belinda Clark, Venita Clark Gibson of Kansas City, MO, and Diana Clark Daughtry of Chesapeake, VA; three grandchildren, Nevin Stewart, Navon Shoats, and Nicholas Shoats; special nieces, Ronita Clark-Waddy and Marvella Clark; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 26, 11:00 a.m. at Swope Parkway Church of Christ. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on this website.
