Michael McQuitty Sr. was born on January 26, 1987, to Marla McQuitty and Melvin Thomas. He departed this life peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 38.

He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Mariah McQuitty-Gilyard; great-grandmother, Mary McQuitty; grandfather, Frank Robinson Sr.; great-grandparents, Luther and Helen Robinson; uncle, Donald McQuitty; and aunt and uncle, Eleanor and William Rogers Sr.

Michael was a proud graduate of Southwest High School in Kansas City. He pursued further education in trade school, specializing in electronics and mold remediation. His natural talent for fixing household items and cars brought him great joy, and he found fulfillment in helping others. One of his favorite pastimes was playing his PSP, which brought him much enjoyment.

A man of faith, Michael gave his life to Christ at a young age and was baptized at Harvest Church under the leadership of Bishop Steve Houpe.

Michael's legacy of love and kindness lives on through his family. He is survived by his parents, Marla McQuitty and Melvin Thomas Sr.; his children, Makiah McQuitty and Michael McQuitty Jr.; his siblings, Mario McQuitty, Melvin Thomas Jr., and Maranda Martin (Willie Martin Jr.); his grandmother, Michale McQuitty; his aunts, Marcy McQuitty and Mico McQuitty; and his cousins, Monchel McQuitty, Marquez Riddlespriger, Randy Hall Jr. (Stephanie), Kahli McQuitty, and Mijah McQuitty-Johnson (De'Angelo). He also leaves behind a dear friend, Renee Dupree, a host of other family members and friends that will miss him dearly.
