Michele Denise
Anderson
Apr 2, 1964 — Nov 19, 2025
Michele Denise Anderson was born on April 2 1964 to Ruby Lee Smith and Malcolm Roy Adair who preceded her in death. On November 19 2025, Michele entered eternal rest, leaving behind a life story filled with love, resilience and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
Michele was educated in the Kansas City Kansas school system and attended F L Schlagle High School. Determined to follow in her mother's footsteps, she completed Kansas state training and earned her certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She worked alongside her mother at Edwardsville Convalescent Center in Edwardsville Kansas, where her compassionate heart and gentle presence brought comfort to many.
Michele was a proud member of Oasis International Family Worship Center and was baptized in February 2025 under the leadership of Pastor Peter J Cunningham Jr and First Lady Deon. Her faith renewed her strength as she journeyed through life with grace and humility.
Family gatherings were some of Michele's greatest joys. Halloween was her favorite holiday and every year she hosted the family's annual celebration. Her son James and all of her nieces and nephews looked forward to the fun she created. Michele also loved hosting barbeques that brought everyone together. Those cookouts were filled with jokes and laughter, often centered around Michele herself who was known for her free spirit and her unique sense of style, from her outfits to her ever changing hairstyles. She laughed just as loudly as everyone else and treasured the joy those moments brought.
Michele had a very special connection with the children in her family. She deeply loved her son James Elliott Adair and she adored her grandchildren James Elliott Adair Junior, Trevon Semaj Adair, Jazmine Nicole Adair and Jamie Chantel Adair. She created lasting memories with them at Worlds of Fun, the zoo and throughout many family outings. Her nieces and nephews lovingly described her as the best aunt because she always made them feel important and included. Michele cherished her great grandchildren Naomi Yvonne Adair and James Elliott Adair the Third and her love for her family was evident in everything she did.
To know Michele was to feel the warmth of her positive spirit. She carried a light that made people naturally gravitate toward her. Michele was not one to sit still. She loved staying busy and she loved to travel. Even during moments when she did not feel her best, she chose to look for the bright side and rarely complained. Her resilience and optimism were defining qualities that shaped her journey.
Michele leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother Ruby Lee Smith and her devoted son James Elliott Adair whose father Bradford Harkins preceded Michele in death. She is also survived by her siblings Beatrice Hudson, Erica Adair, Latoya Hardin, Anna Crum, Sylena Smith, Anthony Adair with Rhonda and Malcolm Adair Junior with Regena. Her loving brother Charles Adair preceded her in death in 2025.
Her family will forever hold her close in their hearts, remembering the joy she brought and the love she shared.
Michele lived a life filled with laughter, family, faith and perseverance. Though she is no longer physically present, the impact of her beautiful spirit will continue to shine brightly through those who loved her. May her soul rest in everlasting peace.
