Montez Jaerome Horton, 25, passed away on January 9, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born May 13, 1992 in Kansas City, Missouri to the hearts of Curtis Jones and Maureen Horton. He was preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents, a nephew Bobby Horton and a special God-father, Rocky Williams. Montez was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri. In school, Montez was very busy and active student. He definitely gave the teachers a good run for their day. Montez was the youngest son of the family, a family he genuinely loved and was dedicated to protect. He loved to fish with his father and dance to any rap music that he could. He was extremely talented and skilled to fix anything around the house. He also enjoyed sports, video games and working on cars. Montez was always kind and loving, with a big heart of gold. He was known for not letting the day end without apologizing and assuring his Mama that he'd do better tomorrow, but sometimes tomorrow was slow coming. He leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Curtis Jones; mother, Maureen Horton; five brothers, Taurean Davis Horton (Christal), Mario Horton, Curtis Johnson, Elijah Anderson and Ronnie Kirkwood; five sisters, Brandy Horton, Curtina Jones, Paula Jones, Ashlie Belton and Kaloni Horton-Jones; special guardian angels who helped watch over him in St. Louis, MO, Yolanda & Kennel Barksdale, Heather Horton and Che'Myra Fields; nine nephews, eight nieces and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Funeral services Saturday, January 27, 1:00 p.m. at Progressive Church of God in Christ. Private disposition. Visitation 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E.
