Obituary

Susie Mae Ford ,112, was born December 24, 1907 in Watkins, Arkansas to Willis Williamson and Virginia Williamson (Bryant) both parent preceded in death. She was the only girl out of three boys all brothers preceded her in death.

She was blessed with (6) Six Children three sons preceded her in death Samuel White, Henry White Jr. and Willis Williamson.

She was married to Henry White Sr. who preceded her in death, five Children was united. She was married to Private First Class Jack Ford Sr., one Child was united.

Even though, she did not complete her education. She was equipped of what God has giving her a GED (God Education Direction). God had giving her the gift of sewing She was a Seamstress for many years, She starting sewing at the age of (14) fourteen as she watched her mother sew for others. She would go to Macy's and other big name stores and look at a Suit and come home and make it without a pattern. She continues to sew until October 2017.

In 1942 she moved to Kansas City, MO. She was a long time member of Barker Temple Church of God In Christ, Power House Church of God In Christ, and she later united with Administrative Assist. Michael C. Warren of St. Luke Memorial Worship & Deliverance Outreach Center Church of God in Christ.

Mother Ford was very active in the church. She stated in a letter she wrote that she gave over half her life serving the Lord. She taught the word of God for many years, she was an Evangelist, Missionary down through the years. She also was a Teacher of the word of God; she was the President of the Jurisdiction Examination Board.

She loves the Lord with all heart she was always giving God His Praises. She would also say the devil trying to kill me, but he could not have me, because I am a Child of God. Then she would do her little praise dance and say whoopee! Thank you Jesus for keeping me save and Holy before His eyes. She would always say we have to live right and do right thing by treating each other right if we want to be with the Lord.

She was able to travel with the help of her son working for the airline paying her way, to the Church of God In Christ Conference and Convention.

In December 2007 she was recognized by the City Council of Kansas City MO and Mayor Sylvester (Sly) James of Kansas City, MO being the oldest person in Kansas City, and also in 2018and 2019 she was also recognized. While she was at the Redwood Kansas City South, they named their Community Hall the Susie M Ford, Community Hall.

Mother Ford was known in the area where she lived to catch the 31st street bus headed to Wal-Mart on 40 highways, the staff would make sure that she was able to get everything she need and making sure she headed back on the bus safely heading home. Some people would ask did she want a ride home and she would tell them no I will catch the bus. She would not get in a care if she did not know you.

She was known to have her favor food Popeye's Chicken wings, breast and biscuit, fish (fried hard) turnip greens with turnips and homemade cornbread, coleslaw, Sprite or Coke pop, Candy bar and tootsie roll lollipop.

Mother Ford departed this life on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Redwood Kansas City South.

She leaves to cherish the memories: two daughters, Evelyn Hubert of Houston, Texas; Annette White of Kansas City, MO; one son Jack Ford Jr. (Altheria) of North Kansas City and one adopted daughter Minister Dana Boykin of Blue Springs, MO; (13) thirteen grandchildren, (33) thirty-three great great-grandchildren, (74) seven-four great-great great grand Children (7) seven great-great great great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 17, 2020, 10:30 am at St. Luke Memorial C.O.G.I.C. Burial Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Visitation will be from 9:00 am- 10:30 am at the church. Service conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
