Myrtle M. Vanoy was born on November 24,1933, in Kansas City, Kansas to the

late Marry Allen and Walter Gibson. Her family moved to Kansas City, Missouri

where she resided until she departed this earthly dwelling on January 3, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Allen, father Walter Gibson,

brother Newt Allen, husband John Vanoy, grandson Charles Vanoy Jr. and son-

in-law Percy Boyd.

Myrtle attended Rosedale High School in Kansas City, Kansas before her family,

moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Throughout her life, Myrtle loved going to the

casino and dancing. One of her favorite songs that she loved to dance to is,

Atomic Dog. She was a proud member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church

where she served on the Usher board. Myrtle also had the pleasure of working at

the post office and city hall in which she retired from both of her careers. God

allowed her family and friends to enjoy her smiles, laughter, sense of humor, and

love for 90 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son Charles (Gloria) Vanoy, daughter, Jackie

(Percy) Boyd, grandsons Delon (Felicia) Vanoy Sr., and great grandchildren

Delon D. Man Vanoy Jr. and Jordan Vanoy and a host of great-great

grandchildren.
