Nancy Ann
Cobb
Mar 16, 1937 — May 23, 2025
Nancy Ann Cobb was born on March 16, 1937, in Dumas, Arkansas, to the union of William Henry Cobb and Beulah (Jackson) Cobb. Raised in a loving Christian home, Nancy developed a strong foundation of faith, resilience, hard work and compassion - values that would guide her throughout her life.
Nancy later made her home in Kansas City, Missouri, where she devoted herself to both her work and her community. During the early part of her career, she was employed by several different factories in the local area. Being the extremely meticulous housekeeper that she was, she decided o utilize those skills to clean homes professionally. She did this for a number of years before ending her working career as a Senior Companion. She loved all of the different jobs that she held throughout the years, but really cherished the time she spent as a Senior Companion.
A devoted woman of faith, Nancy was a long-standing and faithful member of Spruce St. Matthew Baptist Church where she served as an usher for over twenty years. Being a spiritual visionary, she felt a calling to start her own ministry. She left Spruce St. Matthew and founded two ministries - Love Ministries and God's Creation. Both of these ministries reflected her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to God's work. She would later turn Love Ministries over to her son, William, to continue nurturing and developing. She was a member of Concord Fortress of Hope Church during the last year and a half of her life.
Nancy found an enormous amount of joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed shopping, dining in different restaurants, and immersing herself in the Word of God. Her warmth, strength and strong sense of faith served as a guiding light to all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: sons - William Cobb (Irene), Morris L. Mitchell, and Donald Mitchell; daughters -
Helen Chaffin, Jeanetta Ellis, Shirley A. Jefferson, and Sylvia McClain (Winford). Her legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William and Beulah (Jackson), and her dear sisters, Helen Morris and Beulah Lee Cobb.
Her life was a testimony of faith, family, hard work and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
