Nazree (Bell) Reed, 79, was born November 28, 1938 in Gloster, Mississippi to Esaw Bell and Ellen Haynes.
Nazree was educated in the public schools Woodville, Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Macedonia Baptist Church. Upon relocating to Kansas City, Missouri she joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church the leadership of Reverend Earl Abel. Nazree was a faithful member for more than forty years serving on the Usher Board and in the Single Sunday School Ministry.
Nazree married Johnny L. Packnett on June 7, 1959 and to this union two children were born, Barry and Louise.
Nazree was employed by Western Electric, now AT&T, for many years. She later retired from the Kansas City Missouri School District after working ten years.
Nazree was a published author who loved fishing, gardening and spending time at Marlborough Community Center playing Skip-O. She was also a member of Girls Gone Fishing. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nazree departed this earthly life on June 13, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospice. She was preceded in death by her father, Esaw Bell; mother, Ellen Turner; daughter, Louise Washington; brother, M.H. Bell and sister, Mae Helen Stewart.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one son, Barry Packnett, Sr.; six grandchildren, LaShaunda Brown (Sonterio), Barry Packnett, Jr. (Renaurd), Justin Packnett (Melissa), LaToshia Packnett, Torron Packnett and Aaron Packnett; three great grandchildren, Amyah Brown, Sonterio Brown and Lorenzo Morgan; two very special ladies, Lucy Strickland and Donna Jones; special brother-in-law, David Packnett; special sister-in-law, Gloria Bell; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services Wednesday, June 20, 11:00 a.m. at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church. Private disposition. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.Visits: 0
