Obituary

Nina Tishae' (Rambo) Jones, 39, was born October 20, 1977 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert Robinson and Maggie Rambo. She was the eldest of three children. She was preceded in death by her father, paternal grandparents, and God-mother Idella Brown. Nina was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School District, graduating from Northeast High School in 1996. She was previously employed with the City of KCMO and was also known for being one the best babysitters in the city. In 1997, Nina met the love of her life, Terrence Jones and was united in holy matrimony on September 26, 1998. To this union three children were born, Terren Tisha, Terrence Jr. and Nevin Jones. Our dear Nina accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of her grandfather, Pastor Julius Rambo, Sr. She served faithfully in the Junior Mission and the Inspirational Choir, where you could hear her sing some of the church's favorite songs: 'Power, In The Name', 'Mansion', and 'I Know I've Been Changed' to name a few. Nina also sang in a gospel group called, 'The Anointed' with her aunts Tina, Geneva, Alicia and dear friend Angie Burton. At one point Nina became a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Desmond Lamb and continued her singing. She eventually returned to Sunlight under the leadership of Pastor Rickey Rambo, where she resumed her post in the choir until her health began to fail. Previously, Nina participated in the Junior Mission Sunshine District, The Junior Mission of the General Baptist State Convention of MO-KS-NE, and The Junior Women of the National Baptist Convention, Inc. (NBCA, Inc.). She also served on the NBCA, Inc. Praise and Worship Team. Nina was known for being a great cook and believed in feeding everybody. Of course she was loved by many and admired for her hilarious sense of humor. Nina departed this life surrounded by loved ones on July 5, 2017 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Terrence Jones, Sr.; three children, Terren, Terrence Jr. and Nevin; her mother and stepfather, Maggie and Clifford Hines; mother-in-law, Theodora Singleton; maternal grandparents, Pastor Emeritus Julius Sr. and Mary Rambo; siblings, Rashee Guilt, Robert D. Robinson, Rishawn Gissentoner and LaToya Jones; uncles, Julius Rambo, Jr., Howard Rambo (Alicia) and Pastor Rickey Rambo (Keshawn); aunts, Shirley Rambo-Kendricks, Kathy Rambo-Beard (Shannon), Mary Rambo-Hill (Michael), Tina Rambo-Faulkner (Isaiah) and special sister/aunt, Geneva Rambo; a host of other uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins, God-children and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 15, 11:00 a.m. at Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
