Obituary

Teresa Pope began her life journey on November 18, 1954, in Kansas City, MO, to Sullivan Rainey and Janie Alberta, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ronald E. Cook and Deborah A. Cook, and her beloved son, Kevin Osler.

Teresa received her early education at St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Lillis High School. She later dedicated many years of service to Stinson-Mag Law Firm and Lathrop and Gage Law Firm as a records clerk, retiring in May 2015.

Teresa was a devoted member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church and actively participated in the Western Women Missionary Union, where she found great joy in mission work. She had a warm and generous spirit, loving deeply and being deeply loved in return.

Teresa's love for her family was immeasurable. She found joy in cooking, singing, dancing, and playing cards. She also shared a passion for watching sports with her husband, whom she affectionately called Pope. Christmas was her favorite time of the year, as she cherished the moments spent with family. Above all, Teresa was a faithful Baptist and a true believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her devoted husband of 25 years, Samuel J. Pope, and her children: Marcus Osler and Shawn Pope (Malika). She is also survived by her siblings, James M. Cook Sr. (Brenda) and Janice Cook, along with her mother-in-law, Blanche I. Shaw, brother-in-law, Dan A.Shaw (Lori), and sister-in-law, Deborah W. Livingston.

Her love continues through her grandchildren: Aryane Osler, Rahje Osler, Bella & Laila Stone-Hill, and her beloved great-grandson, Azier Brown, who was her pride and joy.

Teresa passed away on February 13, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving husband and her devoted family members by her side.

Teresa's life was a testament to faith, love, and dedication to family. She will be deeply missed by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
