Pansy Ree Findley, 93, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on November 5, 2016. She was born September 22, 1923 in Atlanta, Texas to Rayfield and Mary Pool. She was the only girl of seven brothers, six of who preceded her in death along with her parents. Pansy met Johnnie Lee Findley, Sr. in Texas and to this union ten children were born, six boys and four girls. Her husband; three sons, Johnnie Findley, Jr., Dexter Findley, Sr. and James Findley; and one daughter, Lee Eunice Peters all preceded her in death. Pansy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and served on the usher board for many years. She loved helping others and worked at Good Shepherd Manor, a home for the mentally and physically challenged, until her retirement. Pansy, who was affectionately called 'Big Momma' by practically everyone, loved God, her family and life itself. If you asked her 'Let's', she'd say 'Go!'. She enjoyed being around family and friends, shopping for stylish clothing, listening to Blues music and going to the casino. She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Robert Findley (Ann), Louis Findley (Terri) and Charles Findley (Toni); three daughters, Willie Williams, Lillie Young and May Johnson (Lawrence); one brother, Robert Chamblin of East, TX; special son 'grandson', Albert Young (Sonia) of Tulsa, OK; thirty-two grandchildren, sixty great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 12, 11:00 a.m. at True Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
