Patrick Fitz – Herbert Layne fondly called Doc and PRO was born on December 14, 1943, in James street, Georgetown Guyana and died May 4, 2023, at the age of 79 years from prostate cancer with his wife Dr. Shirley Layne (June) at his side at their home at 12012, Smalley Avenue, Grandview, Missouri.

Patrick is the son of George and Letitia Layne (deceased). And the brother of Alma Thomas (deceased); Erma Rodney (deceased); Hyacinth Davis (deceased); Cedric Layne (deceased); Juliet Layne (deceased); Joan Yarris, and Meagan Trotman (deceased). And the brother-in-law of Eustace Thomas (deceased); Guildford Rodney (deceased); James Williams (deceased); Ventrice Layne; Rupert Gilbert (deceased); Albert Yarris (deceased); and Lancelot Trotman. And the father of Claudette Halley; Cheryl Layne and Nkosi Layne.

The family would like to thank all those who helped Patrick in whatever way they contributed to make his period of illness a loving experience for him in spite of what he went through in his pain. And, special thank you go to Pastor Vincent Fraser, Pastor Errolyn Fraser, Lyndon and Enid Fraser, Pastor Robert Boyce, Dennis and Shelley Cappell, Wynette Barker, James and Susana Taylor and Velda Ramsey. Besides them, special thank you go to Dana, Andrea, Joanie, Meagan and Missy from Saint Luke's Home Care and Hospice teams. Their love, work and all their efforts to take care of Patrick are appreciated by all of the family members.
