Paulette Freda Palmer was born on July 18, 1952 in Mannheim, Germany to Saul Palmer and Freda Gertrude Palmer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Freda Gertrude Palmer; her stepmother, Betty June Lewis; and her brother, Saul Palmer, Jr.
Paulette has been a resident of Kansas City, Missouri for 49 years and was a 1971 graduate of Paseo High School. She received an A.A. from Penn Valley Community College in 2003; a B.A. in Religion from Mid-America Nazarene University in 2007; and a B.A. in Biblical Studies and Scriptural Psychology from Heart of America Bible College and Theological Seminary in 2013. She was working towards a Master's degree at the time of her death.
Paulette re-committed her life to Christ in 1986 and was united with Blue Hills Church of the Nazarene under the leadership of the late Dr. Larry C. Lott, Pastor. She preached her first sermon on January 19, 1997, and was ordained as an Elder by the Church of the Nazarene Board in 2007. At the time of her death, Paulette was a member of Heart of America Christian Fellowship under the leadership of Dr. Carroll McCarroll, Pastor.
Paulette was a member of the faculty at Heart of America Christian College and Theological Seminary. She also taught a variety of classes including Sunday school, adult Bible studies, and was often a featured speaker at various churches, evangelism workshops, and spiritual retreats. She was an active and ardent member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA), Golden Royalties Chapter, and received the Woman of the Year Award on March 8, 2018.
Prior to accepting her call to full-time ministry, Paulette held positions with a variety of employers including Southwestern Bell, AAA Dispatchers, Universal Underwriters Insurance Co., and the Nazarene Publishing House. In addition to working in ministry, Paulette worked part-time as a home care provider for All About You, a Christian Home Health Care Agency until September, 2017 when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
Paulette loved the Lord with all her might, and found her greatest joy in bringing the hurt and lost to Christ. She lived a life of purpose, love, and service and she did so with boundless joy.
Paulette leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Dayna T. Palmer and her grandson, Marquon Christian, both of Kansas City, MO; her father, Saul Palmer (Charlotte) of Rolla, MO; four sisters: Sibylle Palmer of Seattle, WA; Sudi Hayford (Howard) of Kent, OH; Pauline Berry (Joe) of Kansas City, MO; and Helaine Williams (Dre') of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Rev. Carl Nichols (Audrey) of Little Rock, AR and Clarence Palmer of Kansas City, MO; and her widowed sister-in-law, Victoria Palmer. Paulette also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as countless sisters and brothers in Christ who love her dearly.
Funeral services Saturday, March 24, 11:00 a.m. at Blue Hills Church of the Nazarene. Interment Longview Memorial Gardens. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.Visits: 0
