Obituary

Penny King-Nichols, 49, KCMO, passed away on December 3, 2016. She was born June 1, 1967 in Kansas City, Missouri to Larry Sr. and Theresa King. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William Hooks and paternal grandmother, Jewel Henderson. Penny was educated in the Kansas City School District, graduating in 1985 and furthered her education at Johnson County Community College. She was employed with the Internal Revenue Services as a tax examiner for over twenty years. Penny gave her life to Christ at an early age. She worked faithfully in the church and received her Certificate of Ministry. Penny was happily married to Reece Nichols for twenty-five years. Her passions were serving the Lord and decorating. She was an enthusiastic thrift shopper, a very generous and giving person, and always the life of any event. She loved and cherished her family. She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Reece Nichols; daughters, Stacey Carr, Charmaine Allen and Dessaray Carr; parents, Larry Sr. and Theresa King; siblings, Gail Hooks and Larry King, Jr. (RuQuaiyah); grandmother, Laura Rogers; grandchildren, Cameron, Kimora, Kennedy, Kyri, Joshua, China and Zoey; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 10, 10:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.
