Percy Lee Ward, 69, KCMO, departed this earthly life to join the angels in heaven on July 1, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospice House. He was born in Mississippi on May 17, 1948 to the union of Roosevelt and Lillie Mae Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Sammy Ward, Sonny Ward and Marshall Ward. Percy received his early education in Texas and later moved to Kansas City, Kansas where he met and married Ms. Hazel Davis in 1969. To this union one daughter, Tiffany Dionne, was born and he gained a step-daughter, Antigudra. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. Percy was employed with Heartland Behavioral at his time of passing. He was a faithful employee of twenty-seven years and loved by his coworkers. Percy received Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2013. He attended Shalom Missionary Baptist Church under the current leadership of Pastor Henry Lee Pace. Percy leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Tiffany Dionne Ward-McGill (Roscoe Jr.); step-daughter, Antigudra Davis-Hawkins (Tyrrell); five brothers, Ray Ward (Deloria), Robert Ward, Albert Ward, Richard Hill and Benny Hill (Kim); seven sisters, Janie Dunn, Susie Ward, Cliffie Ward, Myrtle Sipple, Mary Britton, Belinda Hill and Kathy Hill-White (Gary); six grandchildren, DeVonte', Malik, Keion, Tearia, Roscoe 'Pierre' III (Ashley) and Brittnee; his Terrier dog, Larry Ward who was his best friend; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 8, 11:00 a.m. at Shalom Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
