Lover of music, fun, and family; Perry W. Gines was born March 6, 1946 to Kay Francis Folks. He was proceeded in death by his Grandfather, Rev. RF Adams and Grandmother Katie Mae Alexander. His Parents Kay Francis Gines and Perry W. Gines Sr. and his Uncle John Rollens. Perry W. Gines accepted Christ at a young age. He was baptized at St. Andrew United Methodist Church at 2400 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO. Perry W. Gines was educated in Kansas City Public Schools at Central High School. In 1969 Perry formed a band called the 'Fabulous Techniques of Soul.' Later called 'The Joint Session,' they performed with groups like The Dells, The Delfonics, Bloodstone, Joetex, The Whispers and the Ohio Players to name a few. 'The Joint Session' performed on the Merv Griffin Show. In 1976 Perry moved to Kodiak, Alaska. Perry Gines was a professional truck driver for the Kodiak metro. Perry married Kem Howard July 14, 1999. They shared nearly 17 years of marriage. Perry retired from Consolidated Freightways in 2002, after many years of service. Perry was a lover of Cars and had a hobby of working on Hot Rods' and reading Louis L'amour cowboy novels. Perry Departed life on March 25th 2016. Perry leaves to cherish his memory, His Wife, Kem Howard-Gines, Children: Terry (Michele) Gines, Keith Gines, Christine Thomas, Rovell Murrey, Shawn Holly, Passion (Truman) Brown, Derrick Gines, Mark Pullium, Shaunta Howard, and Ashley Shells. One brother Charles (Audrey) Gines. Aunt Rita (Duane) Harvey, Uncle Dibbles Sneed. Nieces Francine (Dana) Weaver, Noel and Kesa Gines. 44 Grand Children and a host of Great-Grand Children, Great nieces and nephews cousins and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 30, 1:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on this website.
