Obituary

Phillip Wayne Randle, 70, was born on Dec. 11, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas to Willie and Lula Randle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lula Randle, siblings, Mae Richardson, James (Sonny) Randle, & Brenda (Kay) Wilcox.

Phillip attended Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri Public School District where he graduated with the class of 1968. Immediately after his graduation, he joined the Marine Corps where he served our country from 1968 to 1973, ranked as a Lance Corporal during the Vietnam War period.

After his tour of duty, he met and married Shirley Bolton in 1973. Although their marriage ended after many years of marriage they remained friends throughout their lives and were a paragon of co-parenting.

Phillip had a lengthy career at Owens and Corning Manufacturing Company where he worked for 33 years, beginning in 1973. After his retirement he had various jobs. One of the jobs that he fell in love with was an elementary school crossing guard at St. Peter's Parochial School, where he was elated to greet kids daily and ensure their safety as they crossed the streets. His other job consisted of filling his time as an Uber Driver, which he loved because he could have steady conversations with his passengers. He often selected the longer routes which gave him more money and more time to entertain his passengers.

Phillip accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized along with his siblings (Mae, Jimmy & Ronnie) in 1962 on Easter Sunday. He was a member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Some of his past affiliations included a participant of the BTU (Baptist Training Union) and a member of the youth choir. Phillip enjoyed attending church each Sunday with his family, sitting in the "Randle" section of the pews.

Phillip was loved for his laughter, joy and good times that he brought to his family and friends. He was always the life of the party. One of his favorite sayings that he often quoted was "I make money, money don't make me." He was a great 2-stepper and wasn't shy to display his talents. Phillip was a huge Chiefs and Royals fan and he along with his brothers and friends would travel to cheer their teams on . He was such a family man. He looked forward to attending his grandkids events and attending yearly family reunions.

Phillip departed this life on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his home.

To forever cherish his memory he leaves his children, Shannon Bolton, Kim Bolton (Ronald), & Marcie Randle (Kramer), siblings, Leonard (Jimmy) Randle (Judy), Willie (Ronnie) Randle Jr. (Donna), Vickie Marshall, Arnetta (Net) Randle, David Randle, Lisa Randle; Sister-in-Law Margaret Randle, God Sister, Bernita Shaw; Grandchildren, Roderick Hines, Maiya Randle, Roshawnda Bolton, Shanika Bolton, Alonzo Spiller, Monya Spiller, Zhanae Spiller, Javon Spiller; Best Friends, Gregory Hill, Hubert Addison & Ronald Brody; special uncle, Uncle Cunnie Randle, a host of great grandchildren, uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins and friends.
