Phyllis Angela
Davis
Feb 27, 1962 — Jun 12, 2024
For each life there is a purpose, and it ends when that purpose is complete.
Phyllis A. Davis completed her purpose and left this life behind on June 12,2024
In Kansas City, Missouri.
She was born to Alfreda J. Vaughn Purnell and Paul Purnell, both deceased.
Phyllis lived in the Kansas City MO area all her life and received her education in the
Kansas City Public School system
Phyllis worked in various positions throughout the years but took to the healthcare field fondly. Her experiences covering the hospitality and administrative fields, with
her last being a long-standing employee at St. Lukes Hospital for nearly 20 years.
Among Phyllis's interests were her huge love of old R&B albums and listening to all music.
She also loved watching musical award shows, or a good concert.
Phyllis could also be found trying a new recipe from scratch and telling you what she thought!
She loved to travel and did so as often as she could. She had a huge heart and was always loving, pleasant, and generous. Phyllis loved people! She always kept in touch with her loved ones to catch up on lost time, or to check on their well-being.
Phyllis was very supportive of her family and took pride in attending any family functions. A lot of the time, she'd throw one herself -CAUSE IT HAS TO BE SAID THAT "THERE WAS A CAKE FOR EVERYTHING!
Celebrating was a born passion of Phyllis', and we never had it any better. Good eats, good sweets and good times was her aroma of family life.
Phyllis loved her family deeply, with a special affection for her children, grandchildren, nieces, cousins, and nephews alike. She just wanted to see everybody in one place enjoying one another.
Phyllis touched many lives and formed lasting bonds along the way. She was loved by many. Her kindness, giving spirit, humor, and love for others were her greatest strengths. She could out talk anyone when it came to the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs! Phyllis could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Phyllis also had a strong connection with the Lord as she regularly attended 2nd Missionary Baptist Church with her family. Her favorite hobbies included decorating her home, cooking delicious meals, listening to music, and a special passion for capturing numerous photographs.
Phyllis was a woman of few complaints. Humble, giving, loving and honest. A great wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, sister, cousin and friend.
Along Phyllis's journey of being a wonderful, loving friend and maintaining those bonds, was one particular bond she became very fond of: TRAVIS DAVIS 😊
This bond complimented them both and grew into a deep respectable and loving friendship. Over the years, Travis told Phyllis that he didn't want to just be her friend anymore and ultimately asked Phyllis to seal their bond, and that's exactly what they did on August 21, 2021. They were united in marriage and have been celebrating every day since.
