Priscilla D.
Johnney-Benson
Sep 9, 1934 — Nov 28, 2017
Priscilla D. Johnney-Benson, 83, KCMO, made her divine transition on November 28, 2017 at Carondelet Manor. She was born September 9, 1935 to the late Sara Ella Tucker and Emmett Ernest Rolf, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Benson; five brothers, Ernest E. Fuller, David E. Rolf, Richard L. Rolf, George E. Rolf and Emmett E. Rolf, Jr.; and a grandson, Junius A. Johnney, Jr.
Priscilla received her formal education in the Kansas City, Kansas School District, where she was born and raised. She graduated from Sumner High School with honors, being one of the highest achievers in her graduating class. Upon relocating to KCMO she graduated from General Hospital #1, receiving her certification in nursing and becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Priscilla accepted Christ at an early age. She graduated from Western Bible College and earned her degree. She affiliated with numerous churches throughout the Kansas City area including Pastor Rosie Tiger Lister and Free Will Church of God True Holiness, Pastor Annie Purdey and God's House of Praise, Pastor Jerry L. Pointer and New Birth Christian Ministries, Bishop Carl Landrum, Sr. and Evangelist Temple Christ Unlimited COGIC, and countless other churches. She later pastored her own church, Brotherhood Outreach Church.
Priscilla had an extensive work history which spanned from being a nurse at various area hospitals and nursing homes to being blessed to operate her own business, Brotherhood Outreach Center. It was there that she served developmentally disabled adults in a group home setting. The name was later changed to Priscilla's Place, and she retired in 2011 after thirty-two years of business.
Priscilla was united in holy matrimony to the late Junius Anthony Johnney, Sr. Their union was blessed with eight children. She very astute and witty, always having a joke to make you laugh. She didn't let grass grow under her feet and was always working for the Lord.
Priscilla's mission in life was to serve. She would visit the sick and shut in, and ministered in the work place and schools. She even opened a transitory home for where she was able to minister to ex-convicts and the homeless.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: eight children, Richard M. Johnney, Junius A. Johnney, Jr., Patricia A. Johnney-Murrell (Ronald), Jerome M. Johnney, Marvin W. Johnney, Pamela R. Johnney, Sonya Y. Johnney-Pryor (Joe) and Sheree R. Johnney; two sisters, Yvette D. Rolf (Roberson) and Delores G.
