Raymond Fredrick Goudeau, Sr., 83, KCMO, passed away on November 27, 2016. Raymond Fredrick Goudeau, Sr., 83, KCMO, passed away on November 27, 2016. He was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Ferdinand and Laurence (Guillory) Goudeau. He attended school at Uganda Marty in Okmulgee, and Booker T Washington in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After High School he joined the United States Army and retired after twenty years of service. As Construction Equipment Supervisor, he served in the military's heavy equipment and construction units. Raymond married Joan Joyce Deayon and from this union two children were born, Kenneth and Renae. In 1961 he married Doris Nell Warren, who he adored until she passed on to eternity. From their forty-five year marriage was born Raymond Jr., DuVonne, Darold Joseph, Michael Jay and Michelle LaShay. Raymond was a devoted father to all his children. They in turn, were equally devoted to him. After serving in the army for twenty years, he retired with an honorable discharge. During his time in the Military, Raymond served his country with multiple tours in Vietnam to include his foreign service in Germany and Korea. He earned several awards during his career that included: Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal (Oak Leaf Cluster), Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Medal (1 Clps,), Army Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), and Expert Badge (Rifle). After his time in military service, Raymond continued to work in the field of heavy construction. He was a long standing member of Local 101 Construction Engineers of Kansas City. He was a totally dedicated father and spent countless hours volunteering in the community by coaching several youth teams for the neighborhood community center. He was a revered father-figure for all the children in the neighborhood and was credited with leaving long lasting positive marks on them all. Raymond also enjoyed fishing and could always be found with poles in his car, ready to drop a line in any body of water he came across. His parents preceded him in death along with son his Raymond Jr.; brothers Earl, Chester, and Connie Thierry; sisters Mildred Aldridge, Juanita Thierry, Gladys Washington, Emma Goudeau and Grace Goudeau. He leaves to cherish his memory: sons, Kenneth Goudeau, Darold Goudeau and Lt. Col. Michael (Neya) Goudeau; daughters, Renae (Ken) Bobb, DuVonne (Roger) Warren, Michelle Goudeau; sisters, Evelyn Todd, Helen Thompson, Shirley Goudeau Cawthorne of Tulsa OK, and Kathryn Ware of Victorville CA; sister-in-law, Lola Thierry; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and family friends. Funeral services will be Friday, December 9, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
