Raymond Charles Jones, 58, was born September 29, 1958 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Charles Edward Jones and Carrie L. (Marshall) Jones. He was preceded in death by his father; brother Eric Jones and sister Vicki Adams. Raymond has lived in Kansas City since the age of seven. He was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and attended Linwood Elementary and Central High Schools. After high school, he served in the United States Army. Raymond accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was a member of Shalom Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Henry L. Pace. Raymond loved spending time with his family and close friends. He also enjoyed playing baseball as a pastime. Raymond departed this life on January 22, 2017. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Rayshonda Jones; mother, Carrie L. Jones; paternal grandmother, Odessa Collins; two brothers, Jerry E. Brown and Mario Jones (Daniella); two sisters, Wanda J. Boyd (Benny) and Charlesetta Barksdale (Morris); four grandchildren, Alayla, Alonte, Aliyah and Amircle; dear friend, Brenda Tyler; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, January 30, 11:00 a.m. at Shalom Missionary Baptist Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church.
