Raymond Varnell Spencer was born December 16, 1949, to the union of Willie Ray and Sadie Mae Milligan Spencer in Kansas City, Missouri. Raymond was preceded in death by his father Willie R. Spencer, stepfather Wardell Williams Sr., stepmother Emogene Spencer, brother Raymond Colston, paternal and maternal grandparents. Raymond accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Pastor J.E. Lloyd at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where he continued serving under Pastor Emeritus L. Henderson Bell, participating in the Village Mens Ministry, volunteered during Freedom School, and he loved being on the usher board. He was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School District and graduated from Central High School in 1968. Raymond married Toni Frost and to this union two children were born, and he gained a son. He later married Loretta McCallop, no children born to this union. He worked various jobs until he started his career as a Kansas City Missouri Firefighter in 1976 and retired a decorative firefighter. Raymond had a unique personality and character traits that we are all familiar with and were exposed to. He truly loved his mother and would inform everyone he encountered, that she was his mother. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help, even though he wasn't physically able to. Raymond passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Raymond is survived by his children: Emerson D.
