Rebecca L. Winston, 71, was born on April 2, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Betty Martis Cobins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alan Martis, Jacquetta Martis and Gordon Martis.

Rebecca was educated in the Ottumwa, Iowa public school district. She lived in the Kansas City area over forty years where she was employed as a home health aide until her health began to fail.

Rebecca loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

Rebecca passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2018, surrounded by her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Anthony W. Winston, Angela M. Winston and April L. Winston; six grandchildren, Antonio Winston, Charmesha Spearman, Rodrick Garner, Anthony Winston, Jr., Tyler Winston and Lance Strickland; five great grandchildren; one sister, Wanda J. Byrd; significant other, Harold Piercy and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Saturday, December 15, 2:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
