Mr. Redess Scott, 74, passed away on July 17, 2019 at the home surrounded by his family. Born November 13, 1944 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Reynold T. Scott and Mary Jewell Theus-Scott, both parents; three brothers, Ed "Bustard" Rush, Eddie G. Scott and Raymond Scott; four sisters, Athalean Webb, Carrie J. Manning, Maddie M. Shehee and Freddie M. Scott preceded Redess in death.

Redess graduated high school at Southside High in Ringgold, Louisiana. He later went on to serve four years in the United States Air Force, where he received a medal of decoration award. After his discharge he furthered his education attending a junior college.

Redess was employed at Certainteed, retiring in 2007 after thirty-eight years of service.

Redess married the love of his life, Beverly Barnes on September 25, 2009.

He leaves to cherish in his memory: his wife, Beverly Scott; a son, Charles E. Scott; two stepsons, Walter Johnson, Jr. and Courtney L. Burnes; three daughters, Barbara Y. Hawkins, Tammy L. Butler and Michelle Scott-Young; two siblings, Fred Scott and Jeanette Adams; twenty-one grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services Thursday, July 25, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
