Reginald Lynn Rembert, 59, passed away in the early morning hours of July 1, 2019. He was born on April 5, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri to Orrin and Margaret Rembert. He was the 4th child of five children.
Reginald was baptized at an early age at Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert B. Poe. Reginald was educated in the Kansas City public school system. He attended Sanford B. Ladd Elementary School, and Central Junior and Senior High Schools. Reginald, also known as "Rat" or "Bert", was a freelance artist who was well known for his love of drawing and painting portraits, and painting/remodeling homes. He was a self-taught musician, playing the keyboard, drums and guitar. He taught others how to play several different instruments and helped them to reach their goals. Reggie always loved to do magic tricks for people. He also enjoyed listening to music and going fishing. Reggie loved his children and grandchildren, and spent a lot of time with them.
Reginald was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret M. Mobley; brothers, Robert Rembert and Orrin D."Ricky" Rembert, Jr.; and nephew, Orrin D. "Lil Orrin" Rembert lll. He is survived his children, Helen Lynn Rushing-Williams and D'Andre Lynn Johnson; father and step mother, Orrin D. and Rosa Rembert, Sr. of KCMO; brother, Ronald E. Rembert (Johnnetta); sisters, Rita R. Rembert-Payne, Angela Dupree Moten (Kerry), and Roslyn R. Rembert-Franklin (Carnelious); special friends, Linda Ray and Angie Johnson; five grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Melindy Williams, Christopher Williams, Alvontay Lewis, and Adaya Lewis; two nieces, Shawntra Taylor and CaTrina Lee; nephew, JaRay D. Lee Rembert, Sr.; best friends, Eugene Rushing, Jr. and Roderick "Rick" Williams; close family friends, Eugene & Helen Rushing, Sr. and a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services Saturday, July 13, 11:00 a.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the chapel.
