Richard Lamont Hardin, Jr., 21 of Kansas City, MO., passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021. Richard Lamont Hardin, Jr. was born, July 12, 2000 in Kansas City, Missouri to Richard L. Hardin, Sr. and Tiffany Johnson. He was educated in the Center school District, where he graduated from in 2018. Richard worked a variety of jobs, but his passion was truck driving. Richard was employed at Amazon as a Delivery driver. He really loved his job. Richard Lamont Hardin, Jr., was raised up by paternal grandparents, Tommy and Gracie Franklin. Richard had no children, but had lots of cousins whom whom he was close with. He recently was blessed to have a new baby sister, Angel, whom he had not met, she was one week old. He was looking forward to being the " Big Brother". He was very close with his Uncle Cortez. These two grew up together as brothers, yet they were uncle and nephew. Richard Lamont Hardin, Jr., was baptized in 2008 by Pastor Spencer Lamar Booker at Bethel A.M.E. Church, located at 2400 Flora Ave, Kansas City, Missouri. He was on the Usher Board as a Youth Usher. Richard was preceded in death by his; great-grandmother, Vernerstine Groves, His sister, Haylei Hardin, great grand parents, James and Hattie Thornton, his cousin, Fanandous B. Groves, Jr.,"DJ". Richard Lamont Hardin, Jr. departed this life on Saturday, July 31, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories; His father, Richard L. Hardin, Sr.(Shelley), his mother, Tiffany Johnson ; His brother, Ralph Jackson, KCMO, his sisters, Damari, Baylei, Kaylei, new baby sister, Angel, all KCMO; his grandparents, Tommy and Gracie Franklin, KCMO, grandparents, Bill and Cheryl Johnson, KCMO, grandmother Carolyn Thornton KCMO, great grandparents Rosie Miller, Mildred Franklin ;grandparents, David Staten (Kim),KCMO, Tony Groves(Margaret), KCMO; His uncles, Michael Hardin, Cortez Franklin, Cedric Franklin; His aunts, Tameka, Tasha and Brittany Franklin, Tina Johnson, all KCMO. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens.
