Richard Anthony Nero was born September 7, 1958 to Willie and Merlee Nero in Kansas City, MO. Richard graduated from Paseo High School in the class of 1976. He later attended some business and accounting courses. Richard was married to Tanya Sue Essex.

Richard occasionally attended Memorial Missionary Baptist Church with his father and brother.

Richard had many professions as a driver, fabricator, and laborer for the Public Works Department for the City of Kansas City Missouri. Richard was the type of person who took care of everyone as a proud father, grandfather, and big brother taking care of his brothers and sisters. Richard was quick to smile and would break out with a big 'ole grin. He loved being around his family and friends.

He departed this life on April 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Willie and Merlee Nero, his beloved sisters Brenda Morris and Willie Dean Mayfield, and his beloved brother Dereck T. Nero. Richard leaves to cherish his memories his sons Anthony Paul Nero and Deron Mikhail Nero; grandchildren London and Sierra Leone-Nero; brothers Ronald Nero (Marie) and Aaron Nero; sisters Shirley Crawford and Tonja Nero-Britt (Admiral); Aunts Opal Lee McDaniel and Verma McClain; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

Graveside service Saturday, April 25, 2020 11:00 a.m. at XII Gates Cemetery. Service conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
