In Loving Memory of Robert C. McKinney, Sr.
"Speedy" — A Life Lived in Full Motion, Across a Century of Change
1926 – 2025
With profound love and reverence, we celebrate the life of our beloved Robert C. McKinney, Sr., affectionately known as both "Mac &"Speedy," who passed away at the extraordinary age of 99. As we mourn his loss we celebrate his blessed life span of nearly a century. Mac was more than a witness to history—he was a living testament to resilience, wisdom, and joy through every era.
Born in 1926, Robert came of age during the Great Depression, served his country with honor in the military, and built a life marked by hard work, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. He navigated the shifting tides of culture, technology, and society with grace and sharp intellect—always decisive, always forward-moving. Whether adapting to new times or preserving timeless values, Mac remained a steady presence, grounded in love and purpose.
He shared over 43 years with his beloved wife, Sandra, with whom he was happily married for 39 years. Their union was a beautiful blend of laughter, loyalty, and enduring partnership. Mac was a remarkable provider, a man who gave freely of himself and ensured that those he loved were cared for with strength and dignity.
Known for doing everything in fast order, Speedy earned his nickname not just for his pace, but for his precision and clarity. He was the life of every gathering—fun-loving, sharp-witted, and always ready to bring joy to others. His kindness was matched only by his sense of humor, and his presence lit up every room he entered.
He is preceded in death by his cherished son, Robert C. McKinney, Jr., whose loss he bore with quiet strength just months before his own passing. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Patricia McKinney, and two stepchildren, Christopher Greenhouse and Linda Moore, who were embraced as his own. Mac was also a proud grandfather to a beautiful legacy of grandchildren from both his children and stepchildren—each of whom carry forward his spirit, laughter, and love.
Mac's life was a bridge between generations—a living archive of stories, lessons, and values that shaped those around him. He taught us how to live with purpose, how to love without condition, and how to face life's changes with courage and grace.
A Word of Gratitude from the Family
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and shared memories during this time. Speedy touched so many lives with his generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion. Thank you for honoring him with your presence, your prayers, and your stories. His spirit lives on in each of us, and we are comforted by the community that surrounds us with love.
Scripture Reflection
Mac accepted Christ at an early age and was shown the favor of a very long life. "With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation." — Psalm 91:16
Robert's long life was not just a gift—it was a calling fulfilled. Through every season, he remained faithful, joyful, and full of love. His journey reminds us that a life well-lived is not measured in years alone, but in the depth of its impact.
